Ever notice how the very first pages of the Bible tell us that after the Fall, the earth would bring forth thorns and by the sweat of our brow we would struggle all the days of our lives? Thousands of years later, not much has changed. We still know what it feels like to wrestle. To hurt. To wonder. To carry burdens that seem too heavy for us.

Jesus stepped into that story. The thorns that entered the world because of sin became the very crown He willingly placed upon His own head. My sins. Your sins. Crimson red for the blood He freely shed. Tears and sweat mingled in. The sweat of our brow became the sweat of His. Every wound. Every tear. Every heartbreak. He willingly carried it all because He could not bear the thought of eternity without you. Three strips of lowly sackcloth for the three dark days when the world He created hung in silence. There have been days you've felt like that too... days when heaven felt quiet, hope felt buried, and no one else could see the weight you were carrying.

Then... He rose again. He wore a crown of thorns so you could wear a crown of life.

"Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God." — Isaiah 62:3
